Rules for Fractional Shares Trading

Webull provides fractional shares trading function for investors. Let's look at the rules when trading fractional shares!

Trading Hours:

Fractional share trading is only available during regular trading hours, which is 9:30-16:00 EST. Webull does not support extended-hours trading for fractional shares.

Available Order Type:

Currently, we only support market orders for fractional share trading.

The Order Amount Limitation:

There is a $1.00 minimum when purchasing a fractional share position and the number of shares must be greater than 0.00001. For selling a fractional position there is no minimum dollar amount however the number of shares must be greater than 0.00001.

Day Trade

Fractional share trading is subject to the same standards as day trading stocks. An investor with margin accounts should maintain a $25,000 minimum balance to execute more than four-day trades in a five-business-day window or they can be marked as a pattern day trader.

*Engaging in fractional share trading poses unique risks and limitations. Fractional share positions are not transferable and may be illiquid outside of Webull.
