What does settled and unsettled cash mean? I’m very very new to investing on all levels ?

To add to the answer above, you can trade with unsettled cash but when you do so you're entering a good faith agreement. Closing a position that was purchased with unsettled funds prior to settling will result in a good faith violation. Funds typically take 2 days to settle.
